Introduction
The veeam explorers for veeam 365 is an alternative restore method to the self-service restore portal.
It allows for more advanced restore scenarios such as
- "Save" option to download and save backed up data locally.
- Export mailbox data to a .pst
- Compare backup data with live Production Data
Guide
1) Install Veeam Backup And Replication (Explorers will be bundled in). Community Edition will suffice https://www.veeam.com/products/downloads.html?ad=downloads#vbftrial
2) Open Veeam > Select Backup Infrastructure > Service Providers > Add Provider > enter the details for the account (these will have sent over to you when you ordered, If you no longer have these please contact our support team)
3) Open the relevant explorer for the data you need to restore i.e., Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Exchange, Veeam Explorer for Microsoft OneDrive for Business, Veeam Explorer for Microsoft SharePoint, Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Teams
4) Select “Add Store”
5) Select “Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 service provider”
6) Select "copy code".
7) Click the link https://microsoft.com/devicelogin
8) Paste in the code you copied
9) login with admin 365 credentials for the tenant you wish to restore from.
11) Return to the Veeam Explorer and select Connect (if you need to restore from a certain point of time select “Specify point in time”).
12) Drill down to what you want to restore.
13) Select the mode of restore from the top ribbon and follow the wizard
