Whitelist

Sometimes legitimate emails from a whole domain are being caught in spam or legitimate emails from a single address are being caught in spam.

There are various reasons why an email be caught as spam, including:

• Double extension attachements (.xlsx.pdf for example)

• Containing external links

• Being sent from a particular country

• Being sent from a server which may feature on some blacklists

To whitelist a senders address/domain:

1. Log in to the VSL portal - http://portal.vsl-net.com/

2. Under settings for the account, select the affected domain (or all domains).

3. Under the Allowed List tab, add a domain in the Domains field or an email in the Addresses Field

Blacklist

Sometimes a manual blacklist entry is required when spam emails are being received from a particular domain or spam emails are being received from a particular email address. Sometimes the email may not be 'dangerous' enough to trigger our spam filter e.g. mailing lists, offensive plain text or could have come from a 'trusted' compromised mailbox.

To add a new blacklist entry:

1. Log in to the VSL portal - http://portal.vsl-net.com/

2. Under settings for the account, select the affected domain (or all domains).

3. Under the Blocked List tab, add a domain in the Domains field or an email in the Addresses Field
